The smallest seed mentioned in the Bible is the tiny mustard seed. The mustard plant grew into something close to five feet tall, however, Jesus used it to characterize the growth of God's kingdom, from something small (the tiny seed) to something great (the large plant), as well as to speak of the tiny amount of faith needed to work wonders.
