Glenn W. Hartman, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2008.  He was born December 16, 1931 in Howard County, the son of Harry and Anna (Rodabough) Hartman.  On January 31, 1960 in Lafayette, he married Velma A. (Crockett) Hartman.

He was a lifelong farmer.  He was a soil and water conservation officer for 12 years in Tipton.  He was a loved and respected member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Glenn was an avid reader and a student of the Bible.  He also enjoyed the commodities.

He was the 1949 valedictorian of Northwestern High School.  He earned his B.S. in agronomy and his Master's degree in agriculture economy from Purdue University.  He served in the Army in Korea.

Surviving along with Velma are sons, Calvin and wife Lois Hartman, Jerry and wife Sheryl Hartman, Mark and wife Kristen Hartman, and Randy Hartman; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Adam, Ryan, Melanie, Austin, Jeremy, and Samuel; brothers, Leonard and wife Dorothy Hartman, Harold and wife Eleonore Hartman; sisters, Nora Jane and husband David Dohler, and Marilyn Hartman.
