Steve Swoverland
Dec. 11, 1943 - June 4, 2008

Stephen Allen Swoverland, 64, was welcomed to Heaven at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday,
June 4, 2008,
from his home in Kokomo. He was born on Dec. 11, 1943,
in St. Joseph Hospital, to Charles A. and Helen M. (Plumer) Swoverland.
Steve graduated from Young America High School in 1961 and
later attended Indiana University and Purdue University programs in
Kokomo.
He served his country as a member of the Army Security Agency from 1962 to
1965.
On Nov. 26, 1965, he married Cheryl E. Allison in Kokomo who survives.
They resided in northwestern Howard County for many years
before returning to Kokomo during Steve’s retirement.
He was employed at Delphi Electronics from 1965 to 2001.
An active member in his church, Steve served as deacon
at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kokomo.
Steve was a loving father to his children; Kristin Michelle and husband David L.
Carman,
Stephen Craig Swoverland and wife Sarah,
and Amanda Lee and husband Aaron L. Williford, all of Kokomo.
He was a proud grandfather to Sarah Nichole Overton, Olivia Jean Overton,
Abby Lee Carman, Reagan Lee Williford, Stephen Ari Swoverland,
Isaac Lewis Carman, Ian Craig Swoverland, and Bailey Allaine Williford,
all of Kokomo.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Nell Swoverland.
He is survived by two sisters, Lois C. Odell and Sue A. Berry, both of
Kokomo;
and two brothers, Larry G. Swoverland, Carmel, and Donald L. Swoverland,
West Lafayette;
as well as many nieces and nephews.
